Shawn Johnson is the 4’9″ tall fireball who won the gold medal in the balance beam in the 2008 Olympics. She started in gymnastics at the age of three. She was born in 1992, so she was 16 years old when she won her gold medal. Shawn has been in and out of the spotlight since then, winning the Dancing With the Stars competition in 2009. After a skiing accident, Shawn had knee surgery, and announced she was going to try to make the Olympic team in 2012.
Shawn has always been tremendously popular with her fans. AOL ranked her as one of the most searched for female athletes in 2009. She has won a Teen Choice Award. And Des Moines (where she grew up) dedicated a life-sized bronze sculpture of her. She published a biography about her life in 2008.
Shawn came out in May of this year and did some interviews where she talked about her body image, self-esteem, and the public focus on her weight. She actually lost 25 lbs as she started uping her game for the Olympic gymnastics bid. Whether this was due to more intense training, or intentional weight loss due to pressure she felt in the public eye was never disclosed. But she did say that being a world-class athlete was not enough to prop up her self-esteem and reassure her that she looked great. more Shawn Johnson
Cindy Landolt (real name: Cinderella Landolt) has some of the best abs in the business. Thick, but not unfeminine, vascular, shapely. She spent eleven years training as a gymnast, which have her a very solid foundation for fitness and strength. She got started in weight training because she started squatting, just out of curiosity. She immediately saw changes in the way her legs looked, and she was hooked. Her shoulders and arms are well-developed, her legs are chiseled, it’s really hard to find a weak bodypart on this gal.
Cindy says she is a certified Nordic Walking Instructor. more Cindy Landolt
Shawn Johnson is the gymastics babe who won the Gold Medal in 2008 for the balance beam. She has also won several all-around gymnastics championships. She has been in a gymnastics program since she was 3 (she was born in 1992). Shawn is very active and stays very busy doing gymnastics tours, going to school, appearing in TV shows like Dancing With the Stars, showing up at the Democratic National Convention, and even doing the late night talk show circuit. and she has zillions of endorsement contracts. At 4’9″ and 17 years old, it’s probably inappropriate to call her a “fitbabe”… for now (at least for one more year) we’ll have to call her a fit cutie 🙂
I have always found gymnastics babes to be very sexy. They have power, grace, poise. There’s no question they are serious athletes, the incredible amount of stress they put on their joints and muscles requires a high level of fitness and athleticism. These photos are of an NCAA collegiate gymnast. I don’t know her name, but if you do please email me or post a comment. The balance beam is not my favorite event, I think I like to watch the floor exercise or the uneven bars the best. Maybe we’ll cover those in a future post.
